Tayla Haslam
Tayla completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of South Australia in 2015. Tayla then went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours – first class) with her research evaluating the effectiveness of a community-based exercise program for older adults. Tayla’s high energy and enjoyment of her work enables her to create an uplifting and supporting environment for all members at BBFS. Tayla is passionate about providing her members with the tools and education needed to support and manage their chronic conditions.
Tayla has a strong interest in the complexities of Parkinson’s disease, with a genuine passion for sharing her knowledge and teaching allied health professionals (metro & regional) on how to best support their own clients using evidenced based research. Tayla also teaches Exercise Physiology students at Flinders University, creating interactive, hands-on tutorials for students within the Brain x Body Fitness Studio.

Aleesha Daniel
Aleesha spent over a decade working and gaining knowledge in various areas of the fitness industry before going on to complete a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of South Australia in 2015. Since then she has spent her time working in many areas of private practice and Aged Care where she gained a passion and extensive knowledge in supporting Older Australians live active independent lives while empowering them to feel confident and capable.
Aleesha has a strong interest in supporting her clients in managing their conditions and improving quality of life and independence through the ability to safely and effectively carry out their daily tasks and activities that bring them joy and fulfillment.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Sophie Edwards
Sophie is an accredited Exercise Physiologist from the University of New South Wales who has previous experience working on the North Shore in NSW before moving to South Australia for love.
Sophie has prior experience in a rehabilitation hospital and private practice specialising in over 55’s. She is passionate about exercise and creating a program that is individualised for each member. Sophie enjoys creating an environment where everyone can recognise their true potential and understand how exercise can benefit their wellbeing.

Exercise Physiologist
Rachel Borgas
Rachel completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (first class honours) from the University of South Australia in 2021. Since then she has worked in a private practice setting in rural South Australia where she gained experience with a diverse range of client populations, including but not limited to musculoskeletal injuries, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, arthritis and cancer.
She had the opportunity to travel around and increase the accessibility of exercise physiology services for those individuals living in rural and remote areas. Rachel is passionate about encouraging individuals to take control of their health and wellbeing, and believes that there is a form of exercise for everyone, no matter your age, background or previous experience.

Senior Exercise Physiologist
Laura Johns
Laura is a Senior Exercise Physiologist at the Brain x Body Fitness Studio. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she competed in Division 1 Soccer, as well as a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology and a Masters by Research from the University of South Australia. Her research focused on the barriers and enablers for police officers’ participation in physical activity.
Throughout her career, Laura has worked with diverse populations and various chronic conditions, including mental health, musculoskeletal, metabolic, and neurological conditions/disorders. She is passionate about guiding individuals on their physical activity journeys, helping them lead happier, more movement-focused lives.
